Be Safe this Cyber Monday

Many of us will spend part of the first day back at work checking out deals on Amazon, eBay, Crate and Barrel, or my personal favorite, Golfsmith.com (a new hybrid can be shipped to our San Jose office).

If you are an IT manager, Cyber Monday is a different kind of day. It's one that brings major security concerns. Phishing attacks, survey scams and poisoned search engine results are all expected to ramp up today.

Kerio’s business phone system Kerio Operator 1.2 goes public beta.

Today, I'm thrilled to announce the first public beta of Kerio Operator 1.2.0. It brings some quite interesting functionality, easier operation and better hardware support for, amongst other things, Digium analog cards.

Here's a sneak peek of the new features:

  • Support for analog phone lines
  • Support for phones with BLF
  • Improved call forwarding configuration
  • New Linux kernel
  • Upgrade to Asterisk 1.8

Web administration and why web technologies will prevail

I am sometimes asked why Kerio replaced native client administration consoles with an exclusively web administration approach, which is perhaps seen as one of the more controversial decisions we have made in the past. As web technologies continued to mature, we anticipated a wider industry trend towards shifting user interfaces to the browser. Let me give you a quick peek at Kerio's long-term web development strategy.
