Sunbelt Software completes acquisition of Kerio Personal Firewall

Sunbelt’s product line expands to include best of breed firewall tools

Clearwater, FL — Sunbelt Software, a leading provider of Windows security solutions, today announced it has completed its acquisition of the Kerio Personal Firewall, a powerful and industry-leading firewall. The acquisition also includes the Kerio ServerFirewall, a powerful tool that provides advanced firewall protection for Windows server operating systems. The company also announced aggressive new pricing for Kerio Personal Firewall.

Both of Kerio’s firewall products will be re-branded on an interim basis as the “Sunbelt Kerio Personal Firewall” and “Sunbelt Kerio ServerFirewall”. Existing customers of both products will receive full technical support through Sunbelt, with the additional enhancement of access to the company’s industry-leading toll-free support. Sunbelt will also maintain Kerio’s product support forums for both products, with full transition of the forums to Sunbelt servers expected by January.

“Kerio is excited about the opportunity to focus on our current messaging and security products, Kerio MailServer and Kerio WinRoute Firewall,” said Martin Viktora, CEO of Kerio Technologies, Inc. “Sunbelt's acquisition of Kerio Personal Firewall allows us to do just that, and their relevant expertise in desktop security will leave our customers in good hands."

“We are thrilled to complete this acquisition, as the Kerio firewall technology is one of the best in the industry,” said Alex Eckelberry, president of Sunbelt Software. “Kerio users should know that we are firmly committed to ongoing development and world-class support for both products.”

Major price reduction on Personal Firewall
As part of Sunbelt’s commitment to providing affordable best of breed security tools, the retail price of the full edition of the Sunbelt Kerio Personal Firewall will be reduced to $19.95 from Kerio’s current price of $45. First-year license includes a 12-month subscription to updates, upgrades and support and is available immediately for download from Sunbelt Software’s website at www.sunbelt-software.com.

Pricing promotion through March 31, 2006
Sunbelt is also launching an aggressive price promotion on the Sunbelt Kerio Personal Firewall, providing an immediate 25% discount on all purchases through the end of the first quarter 2006. The effect of this promotion is that the price of the Personal Firewall will start at $14.95, with volume discounts available for larger quantities.

Continued availability of the free basic Kerio Personal Firewall
Sunbelt will continue Kerio’s tradition of offering the Kerio Personal Firewall as a basic free edition for home use, with the option to purchase an enhanced full edition. Support for the free basic version will be available through self-help forums. A comparison chart showing the differences between both versions can be seen at www.sunbelt-software.com/kerio.

Sunbelt Kerio ServerFirewall Availability and Pricing
Kerio’s ServerFirewall, previously discontinued by Kerio, will be re-introduced as a new competitively priced version, Sunbelt Kerio ServerFirewall 2.0, during the first quarter of 2006. This new edition will provide a number of significant upgrades from the prior version, including remote management of multiple servers.
