Kerio broadens mobile groupware offering to include support for top selling devices from BlackBerry, Nokia, and Palm

Just six months after its last release, Kerio Technologies, Inc. is launching a new version of Kerio MailServer, its popular groupware and email server suite for small and medium-sized organizations. By adding mobile email, calendar and contact list synchronization for Research in Motion (NASDAQ: RIMM) BlackBerry? devices, Symbian? (NYSE: NOKIA) and Palm? (NASDAQ: PALM) phones, Kerio MailServer completes its transformation into a comprehensive mobile groupware server. With this new release, Kerio MailServer now supports all major mobile smartphone devices, including Microsoft Windows Mobile? devices. On the desktop, users will get new options to automatically synchronize their iCal calendar application and Address Book on Mac OS X and share and publish calendars using Vista Calendar which ships with the new Windows Vista operating system.

Kerio MailServer 6.4 provides support for BlackBerry through a hosted service called NotifyLink? for Kerio, offered by Notify Corp. Once signed up for the service, users can download and install the NotifyLink client directly to their BlackBerry device and have their email, contacts and calendars synchronized with Kerio MailServer.

The Symbian operating system powers some of the most advanced phones on the market, including top of the line multimedia devices from Nokia and Samsung and touch screen enabled Sony Ericsson smartphones. Kerio MailServer uses RoadSync?, a groupware synchronization client developed by DataViz Inc, to push groupware data including email, contacts and calendars to Symbian phones. To protect sensitive company data from loss, theft or misuse, Kerio MailServer administrators have the ability to remotely wipe data from Symbian devices in case they are lost or stolen.

?There is no clear winner in the smartphone market at this point,? says Michael Osterman of Osterman Research, a leading analyst firm in the messaging and collaboration space. ?By supporting a wide variety of devices, Kerio MailServer gives businesses a flexible alternative to enterprise mobile groupware offerings. ?

Kerio MailServer 6.4 supports the new groupware client Outlook 2007 from Microsoft. For small businesses or startups with a preference for low cost groupware solutions, Kerio MailServer now supports the new Vista Mail and Vista Calendar applications that Microsoft includes with the OS. Users can get email, manage contacts, and subscribe or publish calendars without having to purchase a full-featured groupware application such as Outlook.

The new Kerio iSync Connector provide Mac users the ability to synchronize their Address Book and iCal calendar application data with Kerio MailServer. This two-way synchronization of calendar and contact data combined with Kerio?s support for the Apple Mail application allows organizations to rollout professional groupware to their employees using just the built-in applications and technologies in Mac OS X.

?With Kerio MailServer 6.4, our expanded desktop client and mobile device support gives users the freedom to choose the right combination of clients for email based collaboration, whether connecting from the road, in the office or from home,? says Dusan Vitek, VP Worldwide Marketing at Kerio Technologies, Inc. ?We give users unparalleled flexibility in choosing the client or device that work best for them, and that contributes significantly to user productivity.?

Administrators can install and test the new version of Kerio MailServer on Windows Vista, Fedora Core 6, SUSE Linux 10.1, and Red Hat Enterprise 5.
